Daily Routine

We recognize the importance of routine and structure within an emergent curriculum (based on the children's interest).  For this reason, our daily schedule is as follows:

Time Activity
6:30 a.m. Active Learning/Quiet Time, if needed (The children independently choose activities that have been thoughtfully planned and placed out.)
9:00 a.m. Group Meeting Time (A teacher-directed time in which the children discuss and do activities. This could include stories, songs, props, experiments, discussions, etc. The children and educator end the time by discussing what activities will be placed in their environment.   Activities consist of art and a minimum of 2 other learning centres.  Immediately after the meeting the educator will set up the environment.
9:15 a.m. Snack Time (This is set up as a scattered snack time where the snack is placed out and the children independently choose to have snack instead of the entire group all having snack at once.)
10:30 a.m. Outdoor Activities (weather permitted) or Large Motor Activities
11:45 a.m. Lunch Time
1:00 p.m. Yoga Time/Story Time
1:30 p.m. Nap/Rest Time
2:15 p.m. Learning Centres reopen and children continue with new or previous activities.
3:00 p.m. Group Snack Time
3:30 p.m. Outdoor Activities (weather permitted) or Large Motor Activities
